Project Overview
Nova Flow is a UI/UX overhaul of a workflow product whose power had outgrown its interface: rich functionality buried under menus that only long-time users could navigate.
The project set out to make the product's depth feel like an advantage again — clear on the first day, fast on the hundredth.

The Challenge
Years of feature releases had accreted into a dense, inconsistent interface. New users churned before reaching the core value; experienced users relied on muscle memory that broke with every update.
The challenge was to simplify radically without slowing down the experts the product already served.
Our Approach
We shadowed users across roles to map the tasks that actually fill their days, then rebuilt the information architecture around those tasks rather than the feature list.
Every proposed flow was prototyped and tested against the current product, with a simple bar: faster for novices, no slower for experts.

Design Solution
The design solution centres on a focused workspace: one primary action per screen, progressive disclosure for advanced options, and a command palette that gives power users a keyboard-speed path to everything.
A rebuilt component library — consistent forms, tables, states and motion — replaced dozens of one-off patterns, making the product feel like one product again.
Outcome
Task completion for new users rose sharply in the first month, and support volume on navigation questions fell to a trickle.
Nova Flow now onboards in minutes, and the design system behind it keeps every new feature landing in a familiar place.
